Tereza Strnad's paintings are sensitive, ironic and disturbing, with a nostalgic imprint of something that was but is no longer, or is now and will soon be gone. Moments of stopping in the fullness of the moment, just before laughter turns to sadness, before the remains of a tempting feast are left behind, before a beautiful face or body inevitably grows old and flowers wither, and before a place full of life darkens and night falls over it, or disappears altogether. Tereza Strnad's paintings are based on a careful observation of the objects, images and events around her, to which the painter turns in different moods, from ironic insights with a dose of humor and subtle sarcasm, through the gaze of an impartial observer, to intimate insight. They are beautiful, enigmatic and full of depth, yet painted with absolute ease.
The handwriting is driven by an enthusiasm for color and the exploration of its possibilities, creating a certain mood or atmosphere that forms a common line between the often very different paintings. And then there is the aforementioned moment of time and transience that recurs in Tereza Strnad's paintings in various forms - always moments of a certain fulfillment that await the inevitable fall.

I believe that the language of the image is more powerful and concise than words.
In the simplicity, the banality of the everyday, I look for a window into the depth of the world around me. In addition to subject matter, color and exploring the possibilities of working with color is an equally important creator of content. It never ceases to amaze me how many ways of approaching the medium of color can be found.
The search for color chords, harmonies and dissonances is a never-ending adventure.
